The Material Behind the Craft

Shungite is a rare carbon-rich stone found primarily in Karelia, Russia and valued for its unique mineral structure. Over time it has gained attention both for its geological properties and its place in modern holistic environments.

At Sanshara, we work with genuine shungite and incorporate it into handmade jewellery and objects using natural materials such as copper, leather and rudraksha beads. Each piece is assembled slowly by hand so the natural character of the stone remains visible.
